The Carer e-Leadership Network is a way for carers to influence the development of resources for carers and provide guidance to Care Matters. It will involve contributing to a monthly email group where key issues are discussed, in a web-based group, and carers can provide input for new resources.
Care Matters is committed to ensuring carers:
Have access to accurate and current information on a wide range of topics
Contribute to the development of approaches and supports that best meet their needs
Are equipped with skills to make the best use of existing and emerging opportunities
Can provide the Government with advice.
To become a member of the Carer e-Leadership Network you will need to:
Be a carer of a person receiving DSS – Ministry of Health disability funding of some type
Have routine access to email
Be willing to be a key local contact in providing your opinions and potentially negotiating workshop content and promoting workshops
Be committed to the constructive sharing of ideas with a diverse network of carers in New Zealand
